LTN Servotechnik GmbH manufactured resolvers and slip rings under the LTN brand until its closure on April 30, 2026.

LTN resolvers will continue to be produced and globally distributed by HEIDENHAIN, thereby benefiting from the company's extensive expertise in developing and manufacturing measurement devices. Specialists from the HEIDENHAIN Service team will be available for servicing. 

The LTN slip rings will be discontinued. If you have a warranty claim for a slip ring, please use our online form.

Resolvers are among the most widely used feedback devices for distance and angle measurement, second only to optical rotary encoders. Resolvers measure the angular position of a rotor, converting it into two phase-shifted analog voltages from which the rotor's absolute position can be derived. State-of-the-art resolvers are brushless and employ inductive scanning. Unlike many other feedback devices, they deliver an absolute signal within a single revolution, thereby eliminating the need for a homing run after switch-on.

Resolvers are commonly used for motion control tasks in servomotors, positioning systems, robotics applications, and other use cases requiring high availability combined with robust and failsafe feedback.

LTN brushless resolvers are designed for operation in extreme environments, ensuring wear-free operation and dependable feedback in the face of dramatic temperature fluctuations, strong vibrations, and sizable shock loads.
